Day 62, Ukraine

We are now flying to our next destination...to have a delicious meal in an Italian restaurant in the Swallow's Nest...........

hmmm, my friends know that we are in the Ukraine

but they still haven't figured exactly which part we are going to ....

Oh, isn't that Uchan-su waterfall??

and there is Bear Mountain....ahhh, breathtaking scenery, don't you agree??

Still clueless as to where we are off to???

Ok, ok, before Nopi throttles me..........I will give you a few hints.....

The Swallow'Nest was built between 1911-1912 on top of a 40-meter (130 ft) high Cliff...a rather precarious setting I may add....

The building is compact in size (20 m long by 10 m wide; 65 ft by 33 ft).

In 1927, Swallow's Nest survived a serious earthquake rated at 6 to 7 on the Richter scale. The building was not damaged, except for some small decorative items that were thrown into the sea along with a small portion of the cliff. However, the cliff itself developed a huge crack.

Aaaah, there it is ....

The Swallow's Nest, a decorative castle near Yalta on the Crimean shore in southern Ukraine, overlooking the cape of Ai-Todor.

After lunch....we walked along the observation deck which rings the building.....what a beautiful view of the sea and Yalta's distant shoreline.......

I bet you guys thought that we were going to Kiev when I said our next stop was the Ukraine.....you never imagined that we would be visiting CRIMEA!

I am so glad that Valery recommended this place......we have thoroughly enjoyed the views.....
