Day 2, Bangladesh

I am a cricket fanatic....so I am celebrating the victory of the Sri Lankan team over the mighty Aussies last night in the ICC World Cup T20 tournament:-)....but we must now leave Sri Lanka and head for Bangladesh, whose team sadly has exited the tournament having been beaten by India and Ireland....:-(

Okay, once again, courtesy of the lovely Sita , we are able to tour Bangladesh...

Most parts of Bangladesh are less than 12 metres (39 ft) above the sea level, and it is believed that about 50% of the land would be flooded if the sea level were to rise by a metre

The Shaheed Minar is a national monument in Dhaka, Bangladesh, established to commemorate those killed during the Language Movement demonstrations of 1952.
