Day 77, State of Qatar

We are now flying over Qatar, also known as the State of Qatar or locally Dawlat Qaṭar, an Arab emirate in the Middle East, occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeasterly coast of the larger Arabian Peninsula.

Hey Amit, did you know that as an oil-rich nation, Qatar has the second highest GDP per capita in the world?

Marti wants to know what that structure is??

Feroz says that is an offshore platform, often referred to as an oil platform or an oil rig. It is used to house workers and machinery needed to drill wells in the ocean bed, extract oil and/or natural gas, process the produced fluids, and ship or pipe them to shore.
Depending on the circumstances, the platform may be fixed to the ocean floor, may consist of an artificial island, or may float.

hmmm, interesting....
