Day 58, from "Hogwarts" to London ,United Kingdom

We are now flying over the United Kingdom......and that building looks oh so familiar.....its HOGWARTS!!!

Well, actually it's Alnwick Castle, a castle and stately home in Alnwick, Northumberland, England, UK ,built following the Norman conquest, and renovated and remodelled a number of times.
And yes, the castle is used as a stand in for the exterior and interior of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films!!

Since the castle is open to the public throughout the summer, and it's the 4th of August today, we are so lucky because the Harry Potter magic has come alive with many Harry Potter look alikes roaming the grounds, entertaining the crowds, and we are so thrilled to be part of this event as it only happens today and tomorrow.....

Alnwick Castle is one of the largest inhabited castles in England, and proudly known as 'The Windsor of the North'.
Built as a medieval fortress, today it is home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland and their family.

After Windsor Castle, it is the second largest inhabited castle in England.

After a complete guided tour of this awsome Castle and perfectly kept grounds, Sita and Marti took some archery lessons, whilst Nopi and I went to the birds of prey demonstration.
Then we all met up to watch the magic and wizardry show with a Harry Potter theme and finished our excursion with a picnic in the grounds.
That was so very enjoyable.....

Ok, guys we are now flying over London.......

there are too many famous landmarks visible from up here.........
I think that we will have to the United Kingdom for a full tour of this country....... everyone is in agreement....so let's move forward.....
