Day 47, from Montana to Wyoming, USA

We really enjoyed visiting Mount Rushmore.... now we are moving on ....over Montana, a state in the Western United States.

The western third of the state contains numerous mountain ranges and this geographical fact is reflected in the state's name, derived from the Spanish word montaƱa (mountain).
The state nickname is the "Treasure State."

Other nicknames include "Land of Shining Mountains," "Big Sky Country," and the slogan "The Last Best Place."

The next state we are flying over is Washington, a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.

Did you know that the state was named after George Washington, the first President of the United States and is the only U.S. state named after a president?

Oregon is another state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
The Columbia and Snake rivers delineate much of Oregon's northern and eastern boundaries respectively.

The area was inhabited by many indigenous tribes before the arrival of traders, explorers and settlers.

There's Idaho, the next state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States of America.

It is a mostly mountainous state, and is landlocked. However, the network of dams and locks on the Columbia River and Snake River make Lewiston, Idaho the furthest inland seaport on the west coast of the continental United States.

Wyoming is a state in the Western United States.
The majority of the state is dominated by the mountain ranges and Prasad is begging us to go to the Yellowstone National Park!!!
