Jambo from Kenya

Jambo .....Good morning from a slightly chilly Nairobi........its 4.am. here...and its still quite dark outside.....

I am really excited this morning.....What is the one thing that I have always wanted to do, at least once in my lifetime???
Hot air ballooning over the scenic beauty of Maasai Mara!!!

We leave Nairobi this morning and return to the Maasai Mara to board the huge candy striped balloon that awaits....it is 6.A.M now and the sun has not risen as yet....

The balloon flight takes off from a designated site where the disturbance to animals is kept to a minimum..

I was sure that little could match the aesthetic appeal of a huge, candy striped balloon rising like an airborne lollipop out of the pre-dawn darkness into the first rays of the sun..... I was right!!!

I could see why the Masai Mara is one of the best known and most popular reserves in the whole of Africa......
Nopi, Sita, Marti, Jarca all on board......and we have a few more travelling companions today........Monika( Poland) , Amit( India) , Ramzi( Algeria) , and Leah( Kenya).

Everybody wants to have their own " Out of Africa" and " Lion King" experience....and I am confident that Mother Nature is going to rise to the occasion....

A gentle ascent starts to take us above tree-top level and the whispering light breeze soothes our hearts as the anticipation of a panoramic view of wildlife drama unequalled anywhere in the whole wide world unfolds.......
